The TCS Best Student UG Project Award 2015 function was held on Saturday 31st Oct in CIR Muralikrishna Hall. Dr. K Kesavasamy of TCS was the chief guest and Mr. AK Pattabiraman of TCS was also present during the award ceremony. From Amrita, Dr. S Mahadevan, Deputy Dean and Dr. Latha Parameswaran, Chairperson CSE along with CIR senior team and CSE students were present.
The best project, REDUCING THE COLD-USER AND COLD-ITEM PROBLEM IN RECOMMENDER SYSTEM BY DENSENING THE SPARSE MATRIX AND ADDRESSING THE DIVERSITY-ACCURACY PROBLEM, from CSE department was chosen from the five nominations received through a careful evaluation process. The best project award consisting of Gold Medal and cash prize was presented to each of the project team.
Mr. Mohanan welcomed the guests and discussed the evaluation process. Mr. Kesavaswamy addressed the students highlighting the importance of the project work during academics as it helps them to build up practical problem solving capabilities. Dr Mahadevan and Dr. Latha Parameswaran addressed the gatherings stressing the need for such awards. Ms Rhama LV of the project team discussed the challenges faced in the project and the support received from the guide and the department.
Mr. Krishnan thanked the guests and the function came to good end.
